We’re excited to share that we are launching a new Youth Creation Program, supported by an educational grant from the Danse Mirage Foundation. This free summer intensive is designed for dancers ages 14-18. Led by Nicole von Arx and guest teaching artists, the program invites young dancers from across New York City to step inside the creative process of NVA & Guests through classes, collaborative creation, and repertoire. Running alongside the company’s professional NYC Summer Workshop, the program offers a supportive space for the next generation of artists to explore their voice and expand their physicality.

NVA & Guests is launching a brand-new NYC Summer Workshop in an expanded 10-day format, running from Monday, July 20 through Thursday, July 30 from 2pm-7pm. The workshop will take place in the heart of Manhattan at BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center. This longer structure allows for deeper investigation, collaboration, and time in process together in the studio. Nicole von Arx has been invited to teach at the "EveryBody Dances at the Yale Schwarzman Center" workshop, where she will lead a Contemporary Forms masterclass in the Dance Studio (lower level of Yale Schwarzman Center, 168 Grove Street, New Haven, CT 06511) on September 21, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Doors open at 10:30 a.m., and the session is free and open to the public. Dancers must register. Registration, which opens Friday, September 12 at 5 p.m. ET; the workshop is intended for dancers age 15 and older with previous dance experience, and anyone needing technical assistance or accessible accommodations may contact ysc.info@yale.edu.

Worldbuilding with NVA | Workshop

Dive into Nicole von Arx's creative process in NVA & Guests' three-hour workshop called Worldbuilding on June 29th from 11am-2pm. We will use our proximity to the floor and each other to warm up. Elements of yoga, floor-work, and calisthenics will be used to emphasize mind-body connections and safe partnering techniques for engaging in challenging and virtuosic movement within the group. Through tactile feedback and responsive engagement, dancers will gain creative tools to expand their movement vocabulary and build trust with each other.

Nicole will also share elements of the company's current repertoire, theatrics, and text work. Towards the end of the workshop, these will be used to build a loose improvised score.  Participants will be encouraged to react, respond, and lead with movement and their voice.

The studio will be available for an extra 30 minutes at the end (until 2.30pm) so dancers can cooldown and connect.

This workshop is designed for professional dancers interested in diving into NVA & Guests' creative process.

No audition is required. We recommend early registration as space is limited.
